Happenings this week...

This week was not that exciting. It was elections, though, so I guess that adds a tad of excitement. I don't have any pictures of it, but here in PR, Tuesday was governor elections as well. And they get a tad more into politics than in the states. People have been driving their cars with all sorts of stuff hanging out their windows: US flags, PR flags, flags with their preferred candidate's picture and/or name, and the one I don't quite understand: palm fronds. Yeah, people drive around with these huge palm leaves hanging out their windows...I think they signify Puerto Rico or something, but whatever. Anyway, on Tuesday night, everyone packed into each other's car and drove around, honking their horns and yelling. I saw this one car, I'm not making this up, an old convertible (like an old one...not a nice one...we're talking oldies here) with like 15 people standing in the car (the hood was down, obviously) and then like 3 people just chin-chillin on the hood. Crazy. Anyway, so on to this week...

On Monday night, we (and by we I mean mom, dad, and the senior couples in our mission) went to Chili's because the Jones' that were in Aruba forever pretty much were going home. So we all went there and ate some yummy food, except I got something that dad suggested, and it wasn't that yummy...but that's ok, we still love him most of the time.

PS - If you look in the back, you can see two teenagers on a date posing for our picture. Don't know them, but whatever...we're all in this together anyway (oh yeah be sure to check out Brad and Brigett...they should be on hsm4!!)

So this was my dessert at Chili's, which totally made up for the dinner that wasn't as good. It was either called "White Molten Chocolate Cake" or "White Chocolate Molten Cake" but it doesn't really matter, because in my book, it's called "Big Chunk of Heaven." I would definitely recommend it. (Does that count as advertising? If it does, I should get paid, right?)

On Tuesday, I didn't have school because of Elections. Dad was interviewing some misioneros in Ponce, so mom and I decided to join him. So we did. I drove there and back, aka I pretty much drove all day. Yeah I'd like to call myself una driver puertorriquena! I'm pretty much bomb! (and I didn't even get one ticket!!)

These are some misioneros...the ones that dad interviewed in Ponce. See if you can see what they are spelling.

PS - Puerto Rico's new gobernador (governor) is...(intense moment, complete with a drum roll)...FORTUNO!! yay Puerto Rico!

For those of you that do not recognize those of us in this picture, it's me, the parents, and Brad and Brigett (brother and sister-in-law) They're visiting for a while, and we went to eat at Chimichurri, where all of us (except Brigett) got the Salmon a la Chimichurri. If you ever go there (to Chimichurri) get the Salmon a la Chimichurri...why? Because you will never go wrong with it!! (What is up with all the food advertisements today? I think I'm hungry)

PS - Brigett makes some wicked brownies...if you ever need to gain weight fast, just call her over. She doesn't even Pam the pan!!

Ah yes...the little old man. So we're all sittin there (and by we I mean the parents, Brad Brigett and I) enjoying our Salmon a la Chimichurri (except Brigett, who was indeed enjoying some chicken dish...ask her about it, she will probably recommend it)), when this cute little old man comes and stands at our table. (See that chair? That was the chair dad was sitting in and that pitcher of water was the one we filled our glasses with). Anyway, we all thought, Oh nice! Some live music during dinner! Yeah, I don't really know how to put this: He was blasting his saxaphone the whole time!! I think Brad started about 12 stories, but then was like "Oh I'll tell you later, since no one can even hear me!" That's when we all tried coming up with ideas about how to get him to go away (and by that I mean that Brad said we should call the front desk and tell them we are a party sitting in the other part of the restaurant and we really wanted him to come to our table). Beware of little old men...they're not always as harmless as they seem!!

This picture has no story to it whatsoever, except for the one where mom took the picture and Tenery took a liking to it and doesn't know why. The End. That's the story. I just thought I'd post it, because you get the flags, the plane, the cars, everything! It's so touching!!

PS - I think I will write a book (How to Offend Women in 5 Syllables or Less) like this picture: Looks cool, cool story, amazing book, etc. but with no meaning whatsoever!! My book will have no point, it will have nothing that will make english teachers want to study it. and if they do, I will make myself available so they'll ask me to come in and talk about my book. I will do so, and I will tell them that not every book has to have some point and purpose in life! Maybe the author wanted to say that the woman had green eyes, not because green signifies anything, but because I, the author, wanted them to be that way!!

PPS - Brad is old--I counted many white hairs on his head today!
