pride: delight or elation arising from some act, possession, or relationship
so i'm kind of full of a lot of pride at the moment. not pride in myself, obviously. i haven't really ever done anything to deserve being proud of myself. oh no. the pride that i'm feeling is for others.
to start off, my brother, craig. he got involved with this fertilizing business. they take old food waste and turn it into an organic compost stuff. it's pretty legit. their business is called eco scraps. they have shorts and shirts and hats and stuff with their logo on them. they don't mess around. recently, their business made the front page of the daily herald. here is a link to that article. this business is really growing and craig is "thuper duper exthited" about eco scraps and the direction it's taking.(and if you didn't catch that quote, don't worry about it) i'm really proud of all the work that he's put into this. he's the greatest.
the other pride that i'm feeling is for my brother, scott, and my brother-in-law, clate. together, they recently wrote a book called Conquer the Chaos. i haven't read it, but i'm sure it is amazing. it must be, because it's ranked #4 on the new york times bestseller list and #3 on the usa today list. they even have a blog that backs up the whole thing. i'm so proud of the two of them. back in the day, when they started their little business thing, i wasn't really aware of the sacrifices they had to make. all i remember is that little office space with checkerboard tile that got too crowded when we'd go to visit. you've come a long way. way to go!
the last group of people are all those of my friends that are going on missions. one of my favorite things is to get a phone call from a friend telling me where they're going on their mission or get the weekly letter from my missionary friends. i love how excited they all are to go out and serve the Lord and those people whom they've been called to serve.
i have such great examples in my own family, and among my own friends, and it is my hope and dream to one day follow in their footsteps and do something they can be proud of.
