“after silence, that which comes closest to expressing the inexpressible is music.”–aldous huxley

this past weekend was one of the most amazing weekends ever.
it started with friday night and a blind date.
we went and played capture the flag at the hfac.
for those of you who don’t go to byu,
the hfac is the music building on campus.
it normally isn’t all that confusing,
but try walking around it for 3 hours,
trying to find 3 little glowsticks.
and yes they could have been hidden anywhere.
it was pure insanity.
but a lot of fun.
even though we lost.
then on saturday,
i went up to salt lake to meet up with thelissa.
her boys are in the EVMCO...
the east valley mormon choral organization.
they were performing up in salt lake,
and were combined with the MCO from california.
it was easily the most amazing concert i have ever been to.
ever.
hands down.
it was uh-maz-ing.
i had the chills the entire time (and no, it wasn’t cold in there).
and i cried.
yeah, it was phenomenal.
for riz.
after the concert, we met up with some of my friends that had driven up from provo.
we all went to eat at the pie, which has the most amazing pizza and cheese pull-aparts i’ve ever had.
in my life.
it was a life-changing experience.
then we went and hung around the mall, then went home and went to bed.
i was able to sleep for almost 9 hours.
that may not seem like much, but it had been way too long since i’ve slept for that long.
usually, i only sleep for like 5 or 6...
so 9 was utterly glorious.
this morning we went to music and the spoken word.
we sat way in the back, right next to where lloyd newell stands.
that was also absolutely amazing.
they had a guest choir there.
the drakensburg boys’ choir,
a boys choir from a boarding school in south africa.
they did some african folk songs.
made me think of the parents.
it really was amazing.
then we walked around temple square for a bit.
all in all, it was a fabulous day.
and a fabulous weekend.
exactly what i needed.
love my life :)
