thanksgiving.
i really do love this holiday.
it may be because growing up,
thanksgiving = family time+food time = (family+food) time.
all. day. long.
two of my absolute favoritest things.
this year was my first thanksgiving that i didn’t spend in arizona.
needless to say, it was a little hard.
especially when i saw all the pictures of all the missed festivities that i grew up with and loved so much.
but you know, it’s ok.
i had a great thanksgiving, and i’m really going to love spending every other thanksgiving (or however we decide to split it up) with the campbells. {even if they succeed in coercing me to go black friday shopping.}
they are a great family and i am so blessed to be a part of all that craziness.
we had a great thanksgiving yesterday.
we got up early and went to the zoo with jaren and lindsey and their children.
here’s the thing.
i love the zoo.
i also love giraffes.
and other animals too.
it was a lot of fun.
we made it back to the parental C’s house just in time for dinner.
we all ate some turkey and some rolls and some mashed potatoes and some jello schtuff, and some stuffing and all of it topped with gravy. (not the jello…)
it was quite tasty.
then we cleaned up a bit and tried to digest.
then we broke out the pies.
it was an awesome day.
after all, i had lots and lots of family time and food time.
i am so incredibly grateful for the second family i was blessed with, and i’m so grateful they have made me feel welcome.
i’m also grateful for the opportunity to share this thanksgiving with them.
and i sure do love thanksgiving :)
