“i feel like every ironing board i’ve ever opened sounds like a witch being boiled in oil.” –brian regan

so sometimes, life deals you an extremely crappy hand.
it’s lame, and i hate it when it happens.
but at the same time, i’m extremely grateful.
because i look at life in a new way.
for example, let me tell you about my day the other day.

woke up.
went to work.
got a free apple from a cute old man.
ate the free apple.
got a text from brooke asking if i wanted to go find free food.
went and got some free hot chocolate.
went and found another free apple.
ate my apple and drank my hot chocolate while listening to free christmas jazz entertainment.
listened to steven jones scat and sing christmas songs.
continued listening to the christmas jazz.
during this time, we sat with my brother, bret, and our good friend mitch.
after they left, brooke and i were talking about how we only had one class left before classes were done for the semester.
brooke started singing the song to les miserables, but changed the words to make it appropriate.
she sang “one more class. one more hour…”
then i joined in, harmonizing: “one…class…more!”
we then looked around and realized that we were sitting in the terrace, with a lot of people around, while live christmas music was being played, and we were harmonizing.
like it was a normal thing to do.
then, i turned to brooke and said, “so i feel like everyone around me is eating taco bell. because i can smell it. and i want a soft taco. plus i’m starving. plus i have a $20 i need to break. want some taco bell?”
so we go and get in line.
brooke decided she wanted some cheese roll-ups, because we had no idea what they were.
i wanted the nacho supreme thing that had chips and cheese and meat and beans and is really tasty.
so i got up to the register and said, “can i get cheese roll-ups, some nachos, and a soft taco please?”
i told her my name is tracy. because i’m cool like that.
we finally got our food and sat down and i proceeded to take out the food.
first, i pulled out my soft taco.
then i pulled out a small bag of chips and a small container of nacho cheese.
then i pulled out some cinnamon twists.

yes. we were confused.
but we ate it all anyway.
while we were eating, these two asian girls came and sat with us.
at one point, one of them made the comment that she wanted to be a youtube celebrity someday.

yes. we were confused.
then we went to class. then went home.
then we were hungry so we went to T’s, this new diner thing on the corner.
it was kinda tasty.
we were quite content.
all in all, it was a fantastic day.

at the end of the day, i realized that sometimes we get caught up in all the happenings of life, especially when life is crappy.
sometimes, all we need to do is eat some free apples, drink some free hot chocolate, and listen to your favorite music.
and then go eat some cuties.
and by cuties, i mean the little oranges.
they’re little.
like mini.
so cute.
hence the name.
they help life go round :)
