“i live for little moments like this…” –brad paisley

disclaimer: i composed this blog post sometime last week.
but our apartment didn’t have internet.
we still don’t.
i’m currently at the library, taking a break from studying.
which is why this post is just now getting posted.
the events you are about to read about occurred last week.
enjoy :)

so these past couple weeks have been a tad on the crazy side.
mostly because we moved.
other stuff happened too, but whatever.
last wednesday was quite an eventful day.
it started with kim and i taking rylee to her grandma’s house after she got her wisdom teeth out.
that was one of the most amazing car rides rylee and i have ever shared.
and yes i got almost the whole thing on video.
if you wanna watch it, come find me.
it’s almost 40 minutes of pure enjoyment.
anyway.
i also decided to move into our new apartment on wednesday.
{there was a lot of shady business involved in this move. basically, we were supposed to be completely out of our apartment by a certain day, but we still have stuff over there. plus, i wasn’t supposed to stay there, but i did. don’t tell management}
so we got all our stuff that was scattered around provo and stuck all the boxes in our new apartment.
jeehee, brooke, kim, and i all moved our stuff in, but kim and i were the only ones who stayed the night.
i hadn’t really done anything that day, but i was exhausted and needed a break from all this moving stuff.
the past couple weeks had definitely taken a toll on me.
tayte was working late that night, so i texted him and asked if we could do something that night in memory of all the good times we had had at RG.
i basically just wanted to go do something.
i’m usually ok with just sitting in an apartment and watching a movie or something, but not that night.
he readily agreed, and wanted to know if i had any ideas.
of course i didn’t.
all i knew is i wanted to do something relaxing-ish. preferably outside.
like star gazing or going to a park.
i texted him about the time i figured he’d be done and said something like “if you’re reading this, it means you survived…i would gladly give you a ride home…” something like that.
(wednesday = most freshmen and their parents come to byu and attack the bookstore. aka—chaos)
he told me to come get him, then called me.
he asked if i i was hungry and if i had any plans.
i said kinda to the first, and no to the second.
he said “good because i have an idea of what to do for dinner.”
when i asked what it was, i got an “i can’t tell you.”
oh dear.
basically that night, he surprised me and took me on one of those memory dates.
he stopped me at the first place we met, where we had our first kiss, where he introduced me to dr. pepper and big macs (mcdonald’s, obviously), and to kiwanis park.
{fyi: a walk with tayte to kiwanis park = him ending stuff between us. in other words…i hate that place. he knows it. but he wanted to make happy memories there. mission accomplished :) }
and yes, whenever we drove around, i was blindfolded.
i was able to surprise him with my amazing sense of direction.
at one point, he started driving circles in a parking lot just to throw me off.
which worked.
but only for a bit.
basically, it was an amazing night.
when it was over, i told him that i was “definitely blogging about this.”
and there you have it.
thanks again. it was exactly what i needed.
you’re the greatest :)
