"Yes I am a Sister Martineau...just not THAT one"

So I've been staying with Bret for the past couple days because Naomi is in Arizona (oh how I envy her). We've had loads of fun. We basically watch Psych and other crazy intense TV shows and then we get two quarts of ice cream and two spoons and sit and watch Harry Potter and eat ice cream. It's fantastical. Anyway, so since today was Sunday, I went to church with him. Naturally. He made me lead the music. I told him I hated him secretly. Then I told him I hated him openly. First off, can I say that I am the worst music leader ever? Because I am. So the guy that was conducting thanked "Brother Martineau for playing the organ, and Sister Martineau for leading the music." It was then I realized that everyone probably thought we were married (they hadn't been in the ward THAT long, and there were new people, etc, etc)--especially the three rows of visitors that were there for the baby blessing. Wow. We quickly got that cleared up in Sunday School, so all was well.
Moral of the story (this may or may not be my Facebook status at the moment) -- don't go to your brother's family ward when his wife isn't there. or at least introduce yourself as "Sister OF Martineau."
Side note--my favorite moment of the day was during the combined Relief Society/Priesthood meeting. Bret was saying something about how he needed some volunteers to do a musical number, and if they could just contact him that would be great. One guy was like "When and where can people contact you?" Without missing a beat, Bret said, "When and where they can and may." He then had to translate it and say it normally because people were confused. For some reason, that just makes me giggle uncontrollably on the inside...and on the outside.

Over and out :)
